The Great D!

Where it All Started
" Apparently, Morphy's style exerts an irresistable magnetic power for players of all times, and the return to a style of the highest degree is the dream of every chessplayer, not excluding even the Grandmasters."  -  David Bronstein

David is a Ukranian-born grandmaster who came within one draw of becoming the World Chess Champion. It is a sad thing for me and surely to many chess fans, but for him "he chose not to win" the coveted CROWN.

...but he DID one GREAT thing, and that is to teach chess the right way!

David Bronstein (1924-2006)

He said that the most important step to LEARN CHESS, is to understand the game's fundamental ideas and to develop the correct thinking processHe formulated that the main guideline idea of chess is the ACTIVITY of the PIECES and his practice evidently reinforces this game theory.

Five of His Best Contributions to Chess Literature:
1954                          1995                            1995                           1999                             2007
