I came across this fantastic story from the book “CHESS: The Search for Mona Lisa” by Eduard Gufeld. I must agree that the combination contained in the position and the ideas revealed in the solution is of unsurpassed beauty according to GM Gufeld. I did enjoy solving this challenging problem and playing through the answer with a big smile!
I hope you will feel the same my dear reader, and share your solving experience in the “battle between Bishop and Knight.” You may even raise questions and/or objections with the intended solution. I’ll be happy to have a healthy chess discussion with you all.
